Señoras Tangu Yu Clay Dolls

Some of the first toys for Istmeña children were made out of clay which brought a connection to the earth and its natural elements.

We collaborated with a husband and wife artisan duo, Keren & Michel and designed these beautiful Tanguyu (clay doll) that represent day to day señoras of the community. Handmade out of red clay and handpainted in the traditional Istmeña traditional fashion of Juchitan, Oaxaca.
